Well, just when I think that I have seen it all on reality television, along came the Gypsy Sisters!
The TLC show premiered last night and of course I watched. It was the predictable drama of Gypsy vs. non-Gypsy, the bling, the parties, the trailers, the tanning, the black sheep of the family, and then came the unexpected: Lottie Mae Stanley.

That's right, it turns out that Nettie and Mellie are not the most controversial females in the Stanley clan. Their mother, Lottie Mae Stanley, just completed a nine year sentence for bank fraud.
Lottie Mae Stanley was even featured on America's Most Wanted during her eleven state crime spree where she smooth talked bank employees into giving her customer account information. She was eventually captured and sentenced to more than ten years.
Suddenly, Nettie's need to control everything and Mellie's behavior problems make more sense. It's hard to even imagine what it must of been like for thirteen year old Mellie before and after her mother was sent to prison.
