You read that right. Kim Kardashian has connections to three crimes that were referred to as the "Crime of the Century". The first taking place one hundred years before her famous sex tape!

First off, let me apologize, my mind is working a bit sideways and thanks to lots of sinus medication random thoughts pop into my head. This one was so random I had to share it!

Kim Kardashian is famous for her reality show and her escapades on and off television (does she even have a life off of television?). Anyway, I was reading about her support of Bruce Jenner's transition. Suddenly, I'm thinking about how amazing it is that Bruce is doing all of this and making history in a way with his honesty. Well (and here's where things start to go sideways), I start thinking about how Kim Kardashian was a part of pop culture history going all the way back to her father defending OJ in the "Trial of the Century"...And we're off!

So, her connection to the most recent Crime of the Century (OJ Simpson Trial) is pretty direct. Her Dad defended OJ and her Mom was a friend of the victim. But the term "Crime of the Century" was also used for the Stanford White murder and even though it happened in 1906, there is a connection to Kim Kardashian.

A young chorus girl named Evelyn Nesbit was introduced to Stanford White in 1901. He was 47 and she was 16. The two began an affair, mostly in his apartment above the FAO Scharz toy store, then located on West 24th Street. His apartment featured unusual decor including a red velvet swing on an upper floor. At some point the two parted and Evelyn became involved with the volitile Harry Kendall Thaw. He took her to Europe and there, under some physical abuse, Evelyn confessed her relationship with White. The short version is that when they returned to New York and happened upon White at Madison Square Gardens one evening, Thaw shot and killed White.

Now, ready for the Kardashian connection? The story of Evelyn Nesbit, Stanford White, and Harry Kendall Thaw was eventually made into the movie The Girl in the Red Velvet Swing starring Joan Collins...Who now stars in The Royals which is on E! which also features...You got it! Keeping Up With The Kardashians with...Kim Kardashian!

Another "Crime of the Century" would be the kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh's young baby boy. Charles Lindbergh was the famous aviator and his 20 month old child was kidnapped in 1932. The child was taken from his bedroom and found dead two months later. A man named Bruno Richard Hauptmann was arrested and charged with the crime. He was found guilty and eventually sentanced to death. So how on earth would this connect with Kim Kardashian?

Okay, this one is actually pretty short. The kidnapping has been featured in pop culture almost from the start including music, novels, film, and television. One being American Dad season 5, episode 18 where a man asks Roger and Stan "If I just found out I'm the Lindbergh baby whom do I tell?" And who else has been featured on American Dad? That's right, Kim Kardashian appeared in Season 11, episode 3 called Blagsnarst, A Love Story.

Okay, my head hurts now...Too many random thoughts. I'm just going to keep my fingers cross that this sinus crud goes away soon. I can't take too much more randomness.
